Classical Arcade Games Emulator

Welcome to the Arcade Games Emulator application, a powerful tool that brings over 8,000 classic arcade games right to your Android device! This emulator is powered by the original MAME 0.139 version, allowing you to relive the golden age of arcade gaming.

Getting Started

To enjoy the full range of games, simply copy or move your MAME 0.139 zipped ROMs into the /ROMs/ArcadeEmu/roms directory. Once installed, you can place your MAME-titled zipped ROMs in the /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4droid/roms folder. Please note that due to the vast number of games, some may run better than others, and a few might not run at all with MAME4droid (0.139u1).

For optimal performance, consider activating the GL mode, reducing sound quality or turning it off, disabling stick and button animations, and turning off smooth scaling.

Controls

Navigate through the emulator with ease using the following controls:

• Virtual Pad: For movement, mouse, and analog control of up to four players.
• Buttons B, X, A, Y, L, R: Correspond to Buttons A, B, C, D, E, F.
• Button SELECT (Coin): Insert credits (UP + SELECT for 2P, RIGHT + SELECT for 3P, DOWN + SELECT for 4P).
• Button START: Start the game (UP + START for 2P, RIGHT + START for 3P, DOWN + START for 4P).
• Buttons R1 + START: Load state.
• Buttons L1 + START: Save state.
• Buttons L2: Exit to the selection menu to choose another game.
• Buttons START + SELECT simultaneously: Access the MAME menu.
• Button R2: Open help and global settings.

Supported Games

MAME4droid (0.139u1) uses only the '0.139' romset. Ensure that the ROM names are in lowercase and placed in the roms/ folder. Additionally, sound samples should be placed in the samples/ directory, also in lowercase.

MAME4droid is released under a dual-license (GPL / MAME license) of your choice. Under the GPL license, you have additional rights granted by a special license exception, allowing you to link the MAME4iOS & MAME4droid GPL source with non-GPL MAME source.
