About SIRON
Description of the SIRON Application
SIRON is a powerful application designed to support the search for missing persons, acting as a comprehensive search and rescue tool. In critical situations, real-time positioning of search participants becomes crucial. The coordinator must be able to quickly provide accurate coordinates to other teams or services, ensuring efficient and timely assistance.
Real-Time Positioning and Coordination
The application facilitates real-time positioning by sending live locations to the coordination panel. This feature streamlines the work of both field teams and those at the headquarters, ensuring seamless communication and coordination. The collected data is analyzed to assess the effectiveness of the search efforts, helping coordinators identify areas that need further exploration.
Data Analysis and Continuity
One of the key aspects of SIRON is its ability to continuously record data. This ensures that coordinators can monitor the progress of the search in real-time, identifying gaps that require additional attention. The application leverages GPS and an internet connection to send detailed frames of data, including coordinates, current time, code name, SOS status, battery charge level, and signal accuracy, every three seconds to the SiR server.
Features and Functionality
SIRON offers a range of features to enhance search operations:
- Real-Time Tracking: Monitor the location of other participants.
- Route Drawing: Visualize the paths taken during the search.
- SOS Button: Notify staff and other participants of urgent situations with a distinctive sound signal.
- Sector Preview: View designated search sectors.
- Text Messaging: Send text messages with audible notifications.
- Coordinate Preview: Display longitude and latitude.
- Point Setting: Set markers and view directions and distances.
- Custom Codenames: Assign unique identifiers to participants.
- Secret Mode: Conduct actions discreetly.
- Battery Status: Send updates on battery levels.
Offline and Internet Requirements
While SIRON requires an internet connection to function optimally, it can operate offline until the GSM network signal is restored. Upon reconnection, unsent data will be automatically re-uploaded. However, users should ensure that battery optimization is disabled in their phone settings to prevent the app from shutting down unexpectedly.
Important Notes
- Battery Optimization: If the app stops working, check battery optimization settings. Disable it for SIRON or switch to manual startup modes.
- Codename Usage: It is recommended to use a custom codename instead of your full name. The codename serves as a unique identifier upon installation.
