About Hadith e Kisa
Hadith e Kisa (حديث الكساء) refers to the virtue of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Imam Ali (as), Lady Fatima (sa), Imam Hassan (as), and Imam Husayn (as). The event took place at the home of Umm Salma, the wife of the Prophet (pbuh). At the time when the Quranic verse of 'Tathir' was revealed, the Prophet (pbuh) covered himself and his family with a Yemeni cloak (Kisa). This narration is cited by Shia believers to affirm the Imamate's excellence and the right to caliphate and leadership over Muslims. The narration is documented in various books, including "Mafatih Al-Jinan," written by Sheikh Abbas Qummi (ra).
