Inline skating has long been recognized as an effective cross-training method for skiing. At Rollerblade®, we share a passion for both inline skating and skiing. Recognizing the potential, we embarked on a mission to formalize the informal ways we maintain our ski-ready fitness through inline skating.
Collaboration with Experts
We partnered with the Professional Ski Instructors of America® (PSIA) and U.S. Ski and Snowboard to develop a comprehensive training program. This collaboration allowed us to create a series of videos and a companion guidebook that mirror the movements and skills essential for skiing. Our goal was to transform inline skating into a structured training regimen that could enhance your skiing abilities.
Program Structure
The training program is divided into several phases, each designed to progressively build your skills:
- Phase 1: Focuses on mastering basic skills necessary for progression.
- Phases 2-4: Dive deeper into cross-training exercises specifically tailored for skiing. Many of these drills are derived from proven ski training methods used by the PSIA and the U.S. Ski Team.
