Yet Another Pixel Dungeon (or YetAnotherPD for short) is an enhanced version of the classic roguelike RPG Pixel Dungeon. This game offers a rich and engaging experience with pixel graphics and straightforward controls. Like many games in this genre, it features randomly generated levels, high difficulty, and numerous elements to discover. However, YetAnotherPD introduces a plethora of improvements and innovations that set it apart from the original.

Evolution of a Classic

This game started as a small project aimed at improving the original Pixel Dungeon. Over time, it evolved into a significantly larger and more complex game. Although it is based on the original code, YetAnotherPD is distinct enough that you don't necessarily need to play the original first. However, if you enjoy roguelikes, you might appreciate both games.

Enhanced Game Mechanics

The primary focus of YetAnotherPD is to refine the game mechanics, making the gameplay more interesting, diverse, and balanced. If you're familiar with the original game, you'll find plenty of new challenges and learning opportunities in YetAnotherPD.

• System Tweaks: Healing, stealth, wand usage, and item durability systems have been reworked.
• Enemy Abilities: Many old enemies have gained new abilities or been relocated within the dungeon.
• Chapter Length: Each chapter now includes six floors, expanding the dungeon from 26 to 31 floors.
• Shops: Shops are now available on every fifth level with a more varied selection.

Free and Open Source

YetAnotherPD is entirely free, with no advertisements, microtransactions, or limited access. The "donate" button was added later and is purely optional. Degradation System and More

The degradation system from the original game has been retained and improved to be more fair and balanced. Item upgrades are capped at +3, but everything else has been rebalanced accordingly. Additionally, certain elements such as subclasses, unique class armors, Lloyd's Beacon, and Dew Vial have been removed or reworked.
