About Japanese Alphabet Letter: Kids

Japanese Alphabet Letter: Kids

This educational app is designed specifically for children aged 3 to 5 years old who are beginning to develop an interest in Japanese Hiragana and Katakana letters. The app is filled with interactive games and activities that make learning the Japanese alphabet both fun and engaging.

Interactive Games

AIUEO (あいうえお) Game

This simple yet effective game introduces your child to the connection between sounds and visual representations of Japanese alphabet letters. You can customize the experience by turning on or off specific Hiragana or Katakana letters based on what your child needs to learn.

Balloon Fly (そらとび) Game

Building on the foundational knowledge gained from the AIUEO game, this game challenges your child to find specific Japanese alphabet letters among a larger set of balloons. By popping the correct balloons, your child will reinforce their understanding while enjoying the playful activity.

Word Chain (しりとり) Game

In this game, your child must create a chain of words where each word starts with the last letter of the previous one. This engaging activity helps build vocabulary and reinforces letter recognition, all while navigating a roller coaster track.

Whac-a-Letter (もじたたき) Game

This game challenges your child to find and "hit" hidden letters on a board by tracing balloons. This not only enhances their ability to recognize letters but also improves their fine motor skills.

Word (ことば) Game

Children can learn new words by connecting Japanese Hiragana and Katakana letters. The game uses familiar words and interactions with an animated character named Goobee to make learning enjoyable.

Write (なぞりがき) Game

This game teaches your child how to write Japanese Hiragana and Katakana letters by tracing and popping balloons. As they complete these tasks, cloud-like images appear in the sky, adding an element of fun and imagination.

Dakuon (だくおん) Game (Additional Pack Required)

This advanced game focuses on teaching your child about the changes in sound when certain letter parts, such as Dakuten (" ") and Handakuten (the circle on the upper right), are added to each letter.

Calligraphy (しゅうじ) Game (Additional Pack Required)

Leveraging the skills learned from the Write game, this game teaches the detailed shapes of each letter, including elements like TOME (stop) and HARAI (sweeping).

Karuta (かるた) Game (Additional Pack Required)

This card game utilizes the letters learned in the basic games to help your child learn more Japanese words. It’s a great way to expand vocabulary while having fun.
