Sonic 4™ Episode I

Sonic 4: Episode I is a blast from the past, reviving the classic gameplay from older Sonic titles. The level design, reminiscent of Sonic 1 and Sonic 2, adds a lot of charm for fans. However, the controls and physics feel a bit off, especially with how Sonic stops abruptly in mid-air when releasing the controls. Still, the homing attack and classic zones bring enough fun for retro Sonic fans.

The game is incredibly fun but a bit too short. I finished it in one evening, including getting all the Chaos Emeralds. The replayability lies in time trials and leaderboards, but casual players might find it lacks content. The revamped boss battles with Dr. Eggman are a great touch, though.

Sonic 4: Episode I is a great way to enjoy a quick Sonic fix. The gameplay is simple and easy to get into, with the homing attack adding some modern flair. However, experienced players may find it too easy and too short, with the game offering limited challenge.

While I love the visuals and nostalgia that comes with playing Sonic 4, the physics feel frustrating. Sonic’s momentum feels awkward, especially when trying to run smoothly through stages. The music also doesn’t quite capture the essence of the original games. It’s fun for a short while but feels a little underwhelming compared to the classics.

The game tries to capture the magic of the old Sonic games but misses the mark in some areas. The physics feel off, and Sonic’s moves, particularly the Spin Dash, don’t feel as fluid as they should. On the bright side, the levels are well designed and offer multiple paths for time attacks.
