Purple NECTar: ICT and Innovation for Defense

Purple NECTar is an innovative platform designed to support experiments and advancements in ICT (Information and Communication Technology) specifically tailored for the defense sector. This initiative aims to foster a collaborative environment where Defense, businesses, and research institutions can come together to showcase IT innovations, share knowledge, and test practical solutions.

Platform Overview

Purple NECTar is managed by the IT department known as Knowledge, Innovation, Xperiments, and Simulation (KIXS), which is part of the broader IT organization within the Defense Materiel Organization. The platform serves as an experimental environment for Network Enabled Capabilities (NEC), providing a unique space for operational commands and public order and safety stakeholders to collaborate and innovate.

Event Details

The event will take place from November 13 to 22, 2017, at the Vlasakkers in Amersfoort. During this period, participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their latest technological advancements and engage in meaningful discussions about interoperability and situational awareness. The culmination of the event is the Purple NECTar Visitor's Day on November 22, where attendees can participate in various activities such as briefings, workshops, field demonstrations, and static displays.

Visitor's Day Highlights

On November 22, the Visitor's Day kicks off at 10:00 AM with two inspiring keynote speakers. To fully benefit from the event, it is recommended to register in advance. Attendees will gain access to a wide range of innovations resulting from collaborations between businesses, knowledge institutes, and Defense. Throughout the day, visitors can choose from a diverse program that includes briefings, workshops, and demonstrations both in the field and in a static setting.

Additionally, the KIXS Lecture Evening offers an engaging lineup of topics. Following the lectures, there will be a networking cocktail from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM, providing ample opportunities to connect with fellow attendees.
