The game features various adjustments and improvements aimed at enhancing the player experience. For instance, certain key abilities have been reworked to offer better strategic options during battles. The Avalokitesvara ability now provides a defense boost for three turns and can be used before combat. Similarly, the Holy Spirit Talisman enhances resistance against elemental magic spells, but it cannot be used during battle. The King Kong Talisman offers a significant defense boost over seven rounds, though players must use it wisely due to its limited availability in the game.

Other notable changes include the Red Blood Silkworm, which adds 350 health points to all party members. This feature is particularly useful for lower-level players who may not yet have access to high-level skills like Linger's Five Qi. Additionally, the Mandarin Duck Five Treasures system allows players to significantly increase their physical strength by gathering specific items through various methods, including stealing from monsters or purchasing them from vending machines. The Seven Heart Begonia is another unique item that enables Anu's ultimate spell, the Heartless Mantra, which reduces enemy HP by 1000 per round. This powerful ability can only be used once per battle, and it becomes available in specific encounters. Players must gather certain rare ingredients to cultivate the Seven Poisonous Worms, which can be obtained through careful theft and exploration. Furthermore, the Zijin Gourd allows players to train items with various attributes, with the Spirit Gourd Elixir being one of the most beneficial for increasing HP and MP.

In terms of plot, the game includes several trigger conditions that lead to hidden events. Completing tasks such as asking a doctor for Uncle Ding, helping poor girls in Suzhou, returning a fishing rod, assisting a scholar, completing the Beijing Love Letter event, and paying a fortune teller unlocks new storylines. After fulfilling these conditions, talking to the fortune teller again reveals a change in dialogue, leading to the activation of hidden plots that add depth and variety to the overall experience.
