For those new to Hearts, here are some essential tips to get started:

• Opening Lead: The player holding the 2 of clubs after the pass makes the opening lead. If the 2 is removed for a three-handed game, the 3 of clubs is led instead.
• Following Suit: Each player must follow suit if possible. If void of the suit led, any other suit can be discarded, except for hearts or the queen of spades during the first trick.
• Winning Tricks: The highest card of the suit led wins the trick, and the winner leads next. There is no trump suit.
• Leading the Queen: The queen of spades can be led at any time, but hearts cannot be led until a heart or the queen of spades has been discarded.
