Traditional methods of calling 911 involve dialing the number and then providing the address of the emergency site. This process can be time-consuming, especially if the local 911 operator needs to figure out which agency should handle the emergency. With DistantEmergency, you can immediately contact the distant 911/emergency dispatch agency, with the contact’s address already displayed in the app. Every second counts in an emergency, and this app streamlines the process to ensure quick responses.

Reliable Geolocation Data

DistantEmergency utilizes advanced ArcGIS geolocation data and a proprietary database built using publicly available 911/emergency dispatch agency contact and coverage data from sources like the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), public records, and direct outreach to agencies. The app continuously refines and updates its database, ensuring that all agency information for saved contacts is checked and updated within recent weeks.

Offline Accessibility

One of the key features of DistantEmergency is its ability to function without an internet or data connection. Preconfigured contacts store their data locally on your phone, allowing you to make calls directly from your device using just phone reception. This ensures that even in remote areas with limited connectivity, you can still reach out for help.

Important Warnings

• Normal Cellular Service Required: DistantEmergency calls are made using your device's normal phone calling feature to a 10-digit phone number.
• Emergency Use Only: This application is intended for emergency use only when the caller and emergency location are in different 911 agency coverage areas.
• Location Responsibility: DistantEmergency cannot determine the location of a distant emergency. You must provide the exact address to the emergency dispatch operator.
• Fallback Option: If DistantEmergency does not work properly in an emergency, dial 911 by phone.

Agency Reliability

Agencies whose phone numbers are deemed unreliable by DistantEmergency will not be available in the app until their status improves. Once a call is placed through DistantEmergency, the response to the emergency is the responsibility of the applicable agencies, and the outcome is subject to those agencies' capabilities and limitations.

DistantEmergency is strictly for emergency use. Misuse of the application will result in full cooperation with law enforcement in investigations and prosecutions.
