Key Features and Benefits

MedAIRE enables you to measure the hydrogen levels in your breath from the comfort of your own home. The FoodMarble Healthcare app captures the results of these breath tests and shares them instantly with your healthcare provider. With this information, your healthcare provider can develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

MedAIRE monitors the fermentation process occurring in both your small and large intestines. This fermentation takes place when gut bacteria break down undigested food. By tracking fermentation, your healthcare provider can identify the presence of small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) and carbohydrate malabsorption.

SIBO Testing

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) is characterized by an abnormally high concentration of bacteria in the small intestine. When these bacteria break down undigested food, they produce hydrogen and other gases. Normally, fermentation occurs later in the large intestine, but when it happens prematurely in the small intestine, it can trigger various digestive symptoms.

Carbohydrate Malabsorption Testing

Carbohydrate malabsorption occurs when the body struggles to fully digest or absorb certain food components. If these undigested sugars reach the large intestine, they can be fermented by gut bacteria. Although fermentation is generally beneficial, rapid and excessive fermentation can lead to digestive discomfort and symptoms.
