Telelight is the first and most accessible unofficial Telegram client designed specifically for visually impaired users, whether they are blind or have low vision. Since its inception in 2018, Telelight has been under active development, incorporating numerous accessibility optimizations and additional features tailored to meet the needs of its target audience. Each release undergoes rigorous testing by beta testers to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Features and Design

The novel design of Telelight facilitates faster navigation through messages and offers extensive customization options for users. Each message detail can be individually toggled on or off and reordered within the app. Some standout features include:

• Optimized Accessibility: Hundreds of UI elements and flows, such as download/upload status, sent status, message types, file sizes, view numbers, time, and calendars, are optimized for better accessibility.
• Effortless Message Navigation: Swipe once to read an entire message, enabling faster and smarter navigation. Mentions, links, hashtags, buttons, and more within messages can be accessed via a long press menu.
• Customization Menus: Tailor the information and order of details read for each message and chat row using the "Customize Messages" and "Customize Chats" menus.
• Professional Audio Controls: Control voice/music playback with advanced features like fast forward, fast backward, slower, and faster playback speeds.
• Voice Customization: Add an echo effect or modify voice speed and pitch before sending messages.
• Multiple Account Support: Manage up to 10 accounts, surpassing Telegram’s three-account limit.
• Privacy Features: Preview messages in full-screen mode without alerting the other party and log in using your owned bot without needing a phone number.
• Quick Navigation: Utilize the "Categories" filter button to swiftly filter your chat list by various types, such as channels, groups, bots, chats, secret chats, and send-able items.
• Convenience Buttons: Switch between accounts quickly, forward messages without quoting, and go directly to replied messages.
• Additional Features: Enjoy enhanced accessibility layouts for sending videos, viewing search results, recent activities, and media links. Receive announcements for download/upload percentages and control other convenient settings.
