Informazioni su CPR assistant. ProSMP
The "CPR Assistant. ProSMP" is a comprehensive mobile application designed to assist healthcare professionals in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) according to the latest guidelines set by the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and the American Heart Association (AHA).
Available on both Android phones and smartwatches running Wear OS, this app offers a consistent user experience across devices. Upon launching the application, users can select the appropriate age group of the patient—newborns, children, or adults—which will automatically switch to the relevant CPR algorithm.
The app utilizes multiple independent timers to guide users through the critical stages of CPR. Voice reminders prompt users to prepare for key steps, administer medications, and assess the heart rhythm. Additionally, the timer changes color from green to orange to red, providing a visual cue alongside auditory alerts. Users can reset these timers by long-pressing the corresponding buttons on the screen.
A metronome feature guides the chest compressions at a rate of 110 beats per minute, with cycles of 30:2, 15:2, or 3:1, depending on the selected age group. The final five beeps of the metronome are distinct, signaling the medic to deliver a breath. The metronome sound can be disabled during mechanical compressions, and voice prompts for breaths can be turned off once the airway is secured and mechanical ventilation is in place.
On-screen hints offer additional guidance, such as reminders of reversible causes (4T/4H) or supplementary procedures in the delivery room. The app will alert users after 30 minutes (or 10 minutes for newborns) to reassess the effectiveness of CPR and decide whether to continue or terminate the procedure.
All actions performed during CPR are recorded in the app’s memory. Once the resuscitation process is complete, a detailed report is generated, including timestamps for starting the app, administering medications, and performing other critical procedures. These reports are saved and accessible via the "History" tab, even after the app is closed. For users on Wear OS smartwatches, the history data can be synchronized with the app on their Android phone, ensuring no information is lost and facilitating easy transfer to the patient’s electronic medical records.
The "CPR Assistant. ProSMP" is an invaluable tool for physicians, providing real-time guidance and significantly streamlining the documentation process. However, it is important to note that while the app offers a clear and intuitive interface, it is merely a tool and cannot replace the knowledge and experience of trained medical professionals. We strongly recommend testing the app in a controlled environment before using it in actual clinical scenarios.
