The Ruler App: Camera Tape Measure is a versatile application that combines on-screen ruler functionality with advanced augmented reality (AR) capabilities. It transforms your smartphone into a powerful measuring tool, enabling you to measure distances, areas, volumes, and angles with precision.

Key Features

• ARCore Ruler: Utilizes Augmented Reality technology to measure real-world objects with your smartphone’s camera.
• Line Measurement: Measure linear dimensions in cm, m, ft, yd, and use mm or inch rulers.
• Distance Meter: Measure the distance from your device's camera to a fixed point on a detected 3D plane.
• Angle Measurement: Measure corners on 3D planes.

Usage Instructions

For AR Ruler:

1. Ensure your device supports ARCore: Check compatibility at ARCore Device Compatibility.
2. Align the blue arrows with the base item (e.g., a credit card or quarter) and the green arrows with the object you want to measure.
3. The app will display the measurement on the screen.

For Photo Ruler:

1. Take a picture of the object you wish to measure along with an object of known length (base item).
2. Select the base item that is closest in size to the object you want to measure.
3. Ensure both objects are in the same plane and the camera is parallel to them.
4. Align the blue arrows with the base item and the green arrows with the object.
5. The app will display the measurement on the screen.

For Traditional Ruler:

1. Use the on-screen ruler as a traditional mm ruler.
2. Place a small object on the screen and adjust the line limiters.
3. Reset the calibration if the scale appears stretched or shrunk.
4. Choose between imperial (inches) and metric (centimeters) measurements.

Accuracy

When markers are accurately aligned, the measurements provided by the app are as precise as those obtained with a traditional mm ruler or tape measure tool.
