Sponsored Browsing Access

One of the key features of the ICOM app is its Sponsored Browsing access. This allows users to browse the app without any data deduction from their data plans, provided they are using the sponsoring brand’s service. This innovative approach ensures that users can fully utilize the app’s features without worrying about data usage costs. To achieve this, we utilize Datami's Sponsored Browsing service, which necessitates the use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection.

Why Use a VPN?

The integration of a VPN is crucial for enabling Sponsored Browsing. The Datami's VPN SDK is employed to establish a secure and controlled connection, allowing for reverse billing to be applied accurately. Without a VPN, the operator would be unable to provide this service due to the need for a limited and known range of IP addresses. When an operator receives a request with the Datami domain, it recognizes it and routes it to the Datami gateway for reverse billing. Conversely, if a request originates from a third-party service, Datami cannot ensure that all requests go through this flow, thus limiting the resources available for data sponsorship.
