Generations is an engaging cellular automaton inspired by Conway's Game of Life. This virtual universe is home to numerous cells that live, reproduce, and die under specific conditions. Unlike Conway's Game of Life, in Generations, cells can age over time, adding a new layer of complexity and strategy.

The fundamental rules governing cell behavior are as follows:

• A cell comes to life if it has exactly 2 neighboring active cells.
• An active cell ages and becomes inactive.
• An old cell eventually dies.

While this game operates as a kind of "zero-player" experience, meaning it runs autonomously without direct player intervention, you can enhance its interactivity by modifying the birth and survival rules, as well as the cells' lifespans.

The primary features of our implementation include:

• Adjusting the simulation speed to control how quickly events unfold.
• Modifying the size of the world, allowing for larger or smaller ecosystems.
• Choosing between a toroidal (donut-shaped) or square grid layout for the world.
• Customizing the color gradient to suit your preferences.
• Altering the shape of the cells to create unique visual effects.
• Taking control of the world by selecting from 44 predefined rule sets or crafting your own.
• Interacting directly with the simulation by tapping on the screen to bring life into being or extinguish it.
