Swahili-Italian Dictionary

This app provides the Hoepli edition of the Swahili-Italian/Italian-Swahili Dictionary from Gianluigi Martini. With over 29,000 headwords graphically displayed in a clear and immediate way, the dictionary is characterized by a rich and updated content, making it a user-friendly and high-quality dictionary, a step higher than other dictionaries of the same category.

In addition to the search in the broad wordlist, the app allows you to run full-text searches and provides a useful option to search the phraseology providing for a real context of the spoken language, and making the dictionary a useful tool for quick reference as well as a safe and practical language guide for both idioms

A useful phrases search option further contributes to the learning of the language providing the building blocks for a quick orientation in the most common situations and places: from greetings to presentations, from the bar to the restaurant, from emergency situations to public transportation as well as all the useful phrases for tourists.

The app's interface has been redesigned to provide a simpler and more intuitive experience. You can swipe the definitions to the right to return to the search results and improve the readability by pinching the text with two fingers to zoom in and out. In addition, you can tap on any word within the definitions and look it up directly in the dictionary without having to type it into the search box. A main menu that can be activated via an icon available at the top right of the screen enables all the features of the app:

• Index search: displays in alphabetical order the headwords that match the characters typed in the search box
• Advanced search: lets you search for headwords, in the phraseology, in full text and in the repertoire of useful phrases
• Settings: allows you to choose the font size of the definitions and the language of the interface
• History: keeps a record of the searches performed
• Abbreviations: displays a table with an explanation of the abbreviations used within the definitions
• Feedback: use it to provide suggestions, and notify errors, missing entries or other comments
• Our apps: displays our other apps
• Privacy and Credits: view legal notices about the app
