Meteobot: Precision Farming at Your Fingertips
Meteobot is a cutting-edge weather station application designed specifically for precision farming. With Meteobot, you gain instant access to comprehensive real-time data on weather and soil conditions directly from your own fields. This ensures that you always have the most accurate and localized information available.
Real-Time Data
With Meteobot, you can monitor the following parameters, which are updated every 10 minutes:
- Rain: Amount (in liters per square meter) and intensity (in liters per hour)
- Soil Temperature
- Soil Moisture: Measured at up to three different depths
- Air Temperature
- Air Humidity
- Air Pressure
- Wind Speed
- Wind Direction
- Leaf Wetness
Historical Data
All collected data is securely stored in the Meteobot cloud, ensuring an uninterrupted historical record without any gaps or omissions. This is far superior to manually recorded data on paper, which can easily be lost or misplaced.
Local Weather Forecast
Meteobot offers a detailed local weather forecast for the next 10 days. The forecast is particularly precise, with hourly updates for the first two days and six-hour intervals from day 3 to day 10. The forecast's spatial accuracy is 8 kilometers, leveraging the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts' highly regarded weather model.
Agronomic Indicators
The Meteobot app calculates essential agronomic indicators based on data from weather stations:
- Rain Sum
- Precipitation on Weekly and Monthly Basis
- Temperature Sum
- Average Daily Temperature
- Leaf Wetness Duration (in Hours)
Agrometeorological History
Meteobot maintains a complete agrometeorological history for your fields. Simply define the boundaries of your fields on the map, and you will receive continuous data from the moment a weather station is installed nearby. The primary benefit is that you receive data from your own weather station, or a nearby one, rather than from devices located far from your property.
Meteorological Alerts
Meteobot also sends alerts based on critical agrometeorological indicators, such as:
- Average Daily Temperature Above 10°C
- Average Soil Temperature Above 10°C
- Intensive Precipitation (More Than 1 Liter Per Minute)
- First Autumn Chill
- Spring Chill
By utilizing Meteobot, farmers can make informed decisions and optimize crop management practices, leading to increased yields and more sustainable agricultural practices.
