The "Avimegh" application is dedicated to the ICAR-Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute (CSWRI), a premier institution under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Established in 1962 in the hot semi-arid region of Rajasthan at Malpura, now known as Avikanagar, CSWRI plays a pivotal role in advancing agricultural research, particularly in the fields of sheep and rabbit husbandry.

CSWRI's primary mandate encompasses both basic and applied research aimed at enhancing sheep productivity and management. As part of its mission, the institute disseminates innovative technologies to improve sheep farming practices across the country. To achieve this, CSWRI operates through three regional research stations strategically located in different climatic zones:

• North Temperate Regional Station (NTRS): Located in Garsa, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, this station focuses on research in the temperate region.
• Southern Regional Research Centre (SRRC): Situated in Mannavanur, Tamil Nadu, this center addresses the needs of the sub-temperate region.
• Arid Regional Campus (ARC): Based in Bikaner, Rajasthan, this campus specializes in research relevant to the arid regions of the country.

These regional stations enable CSWRI to conduct comprehensive research that caters to diverse environmental conditions, ensuring that advancements in sheep husbandry are applicable nationwide.
