The EMM Companion app is a powerful tool designed to enhance the functionality of your managed estate. It is pre-installed on all managed Mambo EMM devices during the enrollment process. This enterprise-specific application is tailored to provide additional value-added features exclusively for Mambo EMM customers.

Key Features of the EMM Companion App

• Advanced Kiosk Mode: Lock down your devices to a specific set of applications, ensuring that users can only access approved content.
• Remote Control: Administrators can remotely manage and control Android devices from the Mambo EMM console, streamlining maintenance and support processes.
• Device Metadata: Gain detailed insights into your devices, including hardware and software configurations, which helps in troubleshooting and managing your estate efficiently.
• Heartbeat and Location Functionality: Monitor the status of your devices and track their locations for security and compliance purposes. The location data is retained for a maximum of seven days.

Accessibility Feature

The EMM Companion app utilizes the accessibility feature to enable remote input for our remote control solution. When this feature is enabled, administrators can view and manage Android devices from the Mambo EMM console after an approval request. However, Mambo EMM does not collect or store any data related to the accessibility service. Furthermore, the app does not use accessibility for any unauthorized actions—only explicit administrative tasks are performed.

If the accessibility feature is not granted, administrators can still view devices but will not have control over them. This ensures that users maintain privacy while allowing administrators necessary access for management purposes.

Location Permissions

Mambo EMM collects device location data based on the settings configured by administrators for their managed device estate. This information is used for essential functions such as lost/found mode, geofencing, and policy enforcement. Location data is stored for no longer than seven days to ensure user privacy and compliance with data protection regulations.
