Empower the farmer, feed the nation. This is the core mission of Farm On Wheels, a social enterprise dedicated to uplifting smallholder rural farmers in hard-to-reach communities across Nigeria.

A Mobile App for the Farm on Wheels

The mobile app of the farm on the wheel is designed to bring essential agricultural resources directly to the fingertips of smallholder farmers. Launched in 2017, Farm On Wheels began by engaging with smallholder farmers and community leaders. Through surveys and town hall meetings, these stakeholders were actively involved in shaping the development of our model. This collaborative approach allowed us to create a business model that provides the necessary tools, knowledge, and support for smallholder rural farmers to achieve financial empowerment within their communities.

Growing Impact Since 2017

In 2017, we initiated training programs for a handful of farmers within their own communities. By 2018, the response was overwhelming, with a significant number of farmers participating in our training sessions. This surge in participation has given us direct access to genuine farmers who have benefited immensely from our comprehensive training programs, extension services, and market linkages. Our goal is not just to train but to empower these farmers to sustainably improve their livelihoods and contribute positively to the national economy.
