This innovative platform aims to connect blood recipients with eligible donors in their immediate vicinity, ensuring rapid response times and minimizing delays in critical medical situations.

When a blood request is raised, DoC identifies potential donors within a specified radius who are currently available to donate. These donors receive instant notifications, allowing them to respond quickly and efficiently. In urgent scenarios, the recipient can directly contact a donor using the built-in "CALL" feature, ensuring timely assistance.

The primary goal of Donor on Call is to reduce response times, decrease the need for blood storage and refrigeration, and ultimately prevent the wastage of precious blood due to expiration. This initiative represents a sustainable and eco-friendly approach to healthcare, as it leverages the proximity of donors to blood banks, often enabling them to walk or travel short distances to donate.

Dr. Dharma Choudhary, a renowned hematologist and stem cell physician, serves as the mentor for this initiative. With extensive experience from prestigious institutions such as AIIMS, CMC Vellore, and the British Columbia General Hospital, Dr. Choudhary brings invaluable expertise to the project. He oversees one of the finest and largest bone marrow transplant centers in Asia.

Initially, the service will cater exclusively to registered donors, who can use the app to request blood for themselves or others.
