Overview

For users of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise and Spotlight Cloud, Spotlight Mobile offers a seamless way to monitor server farms remotely. This application extends its monitoring capabilities to include SQL Server, Oracle Servers, and Windows OS.

Status at a Glance

The heat map feature in Spotlight Mobile provides a quick and intuitive 'at-a-glance' visualization of server statuses. Each cell in the heat map uses size, position, and color to convey the severity and meaning of alarms. Tapping on a cell will show you a list of alarms for that specific server, and tapping on an alarm will provide detailed information for effective alarm management.

Performance Metrics

Performance diagnostics in Spotlight Mobile mirror those found in Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise and Spotlight Cloud. It showcases a wide range of performance metrics, including Windows/Unix OS performance, with consistent use of colors, alarm types, and severities. Key performance indicators cover System Health, Sessions, Processes, Memory, Background Processes, Disk Storage, and more.

Playback Mode

Playback mode is a powerful feature that simplifies the analysis of past alarms. By tapping on an alarm, you can switch to playback mode to review the state of your environment when the alarm was initially raised. This feature helps in understanding the context and root causes of issues.

User-Friendly Features

The application includes several user-friendly features:

• Alarm List: Grouped by connection, severity, or alarm, and sorted by date or severity.
• Filtering: Both the alarm list and heat map can be filtered by severity and connection using custom views.
• Alarm Management: Snooze and acknowledge alarms directly from the device.
• Multiple Accounts: Easily add and log into multiple Spotlight accounts through the settings area.

Android Widget

An Android homepage widget updates the Spotlight icon's color to reflect the highest severity alarm in your environment, ensuring you stay informed even without opening the app.
