About Belajar Islam

Belajar Islam (BIS) is a learning program designed for Muslim individuals aiming to refine and improve themselves in fulfilling their obligations to their Lord, as stated in the Quran: "And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me." (Quran, Adz-Dzariyat [51]: 56). This program was initiated during Ramadan 1438H (around 2017) by the grace of Allah Ta'ala and has received an overwhelmingly positive response from Muslims both within and outside the country, including some non-Muslims who have shown interest in participating.

Program Overview

The Belajar Islam program is led directly by Ustadz Beni Sarbeni, Lc., the founder of Pondok Pesantren Sabilunnajah in Bandung. He also serves as the instructor for this learning group. The program utilizes WhatsApp as the primary platform for distributing materials and facilitating communication between participants and instructors. Additionally, participants will have access to personal accounts that allow them to review lessons repeatedly and reinforce their understanding through weekly quizzes and end-of-semester exams.

Accessibility and Commitment

Participation in the program is free of charge. Participants are required to have a smartphone with WhatsApp support and sufficient internet data, along with a sincere commitment to the learning process.

Curriculum and Materials

The curriculum covers a range of topics including the importance of seeking religious knowledge, the correct methodology and creed, the three fundamental pillars (recognizing Allah, Islam, and Prophet Muhammad), Fiqih (the rules of worship), and Tazkiyatun Nufus (purification of the soul). All materials are provided in the form of audio files ranging from 5 to 10 minutes each. The content focuses on significant issues supported by authentic evidence.

The references used in the program include works such as "Syarhus Sunnah" by Imam al-Barbahari, "Tsalatsatul Ushul" by Shaikh Muhammad at-Tamimi, "Fiqih Muyassar" by a compilation of scholars, "Ad-Daa' wa Ad-Dawaa'" by Imam Ibnul Qayyim al-Jauziyyah, and "Tazkiyatun Nufus" by Shaikh Ibrahim ar-Ruhaili.
