Features and Purpose

The primary goal of "Mew-ti" is to empower drivers to use the Shuto Expressway intelligently. The app accomplishes this through several key features:

• Real-Time Route Search: Utilizing GPS technology, the app calculates the shortest and fastest routes from your current location (the nearest entrance/exit) to your desired destination. This feature was added on October 19, 2014.

• Traffic Information: Get detailed updates on traffic congestion, including events that cause regulated traffic. You can scroll through the past two hours of traffic data in five-minute intervals to plan your route accordingly.

• Travel Time Estimates: After enabling the GPS function, the app displays the estimated travel time from your starting point to your destination. You can also visualize multiple routes on a map and compare their respective travel times.

• Crowd Level Calendar: By clicking on dates in the calendar, you can access historical traffic data from the same day last year. This helps you anticipate potential congestion based on previous patterns.

• Accident-Prone Spot Map: Identify high-risk areas such as curves, junctions, and toll gates where accidents frequently occur. This information can guide safer driving practices.

• PA Information: Find the locations of Parking Areas (PAs) along the Metropolitan Expressway, ensuring you know where to stop for rest or refueling.

Usage Notes

Please note that due to legal restrictions under the Road Traffic Act, the app should not be used by the driver while operating the vehicle. Instead, it is recommended that a passenger operates the app or that the driver parks in a safe location before interacting with it. Additionally, the app requires an active internet connection to function correctly.
