STEMS Welfare Association: Providing Housing and Social Services

The STEMS Welfare Association is an organization dedicated to providing a supportive environment for its members by offering housing facilities and engaging in various social service activities. Formed primarily to address the housing needs of its members, the association caters to employees from public and private sectors, insurance companies, and state or central government organizations based in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, the association extends its support to relatives and friends residing globally.

Core Activities

The driving force behind the housing initiative stems from the valuable experience gained while working in Employees' Consumer Cooperative Stores and Credit & Thrift Societies within various Public Sector Undertakings. Regular guidance from experts in these fields has been instrumental in shaping the association's approach. Moreover, the demand from members for a similar service in the housing sector led to the establishment of this initiative, aimed at mutual benefit among members.

Social Service Initiatives

Beyond housing, the STEMS Welfare Association collaborates with other civil society organizations to undertake several social service activities:

1. Quality Education in Tribal Areas: We strive to provide quality education in the tribal regions of Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh.

2. Safe Drinking Water: Through Gravity Water Supply Schemes (Jaladhara), we ensure access to safe drinking water in tribal communities.

3. Awareness Programs: Organizing frequent mobile awareness campaigns in tribal areas to address critical issues such as the abolition of child marriages and malnutrition.

4. Medical Camps: Conducting medical camps in tribal regions to provide essential healthcare services.
