App Access Permissions

To fully utilize the My BMW app, you can grant it several permissions:

• Nearby Devices: When connected to your vehicle, you can enjoy in-vehicle functions like remote software upgrades.
• Photos and Videos: Customize your profile by adding a photo and setting a background image for your vehicle.
• Notifications: Stay updated with important vehicle updates such as charging events and theft notifications, as well as app and service updates.
• Contacts: Add addresses to your contacts for easy navigation to destinations.
• Location: Use the app to check your location on the map and discover nearby points of interest.
• Camera: Connect your vehicle to your account using a QR code.
• Calendar: Plan your trips by adding places as destinations in your calendar schedule.
• Microphone: (Currently deprecated and will be removed in the next release.)

Please note that while you can still use the service without granting these optional permissions, doing so might limit your ability to access certain features.
