Marriage Card Game
Overview
Marriage Card Game is a unique variant of the classic rummy card game, played with 21 cards. This intriguing game is predominantly popular in India and neighboring countries. Often referred to as a rummy card game, Marriage offers a distinctive twist in its gameplay and card distribution. Played with three decks of cards, the game is distributed among 2 to 5 players, with each receiving 21 cards. Known for its strategic and tricky elements, Marriage stands out due to its unique rules and gameplay mechanics.
Gameplay Variants
The Marriage Card Game comes with multiple variants, each offering a slightly different experience. Currently, there are three distinct versions of the game, all sharing commonalities with traditional rummy games. These include the arrangement of sequences, sets, and triplets. However, what sets Marriage apart is the handling of joker (maal) cards. Unlike other card games where jokers are immediately visible, in Marriage, you discover the joker cards only after submitting your initial set of cards.
How to Play
Playing Marriage Card Game is straightforward yet engaging. In the first half of the game, players have two main options:
- Show Three Sets: Players can display three sets, sequences, or triplets.
- Show Seven Dublees: Available when playing with four or more players, this involves showing seven pairs of identical cards, such as 🂣🂣 or 🃁🃁.
After submitting your first round, you gain visibility into the joker (maal) cards. The second half of the game depends on the initial choice. If you chose seven Dublees, you need an additional Dublee card to declare victory. If you opted for three sets, you must rearrange your 12 remaining cards into three complete sets, using the joker cards as needed.
Winning the Game
Unlike typical Indian rummy, declaring the game does not guarantee a win. Instead, the game automatically calculates points based on the value of Maal cards held by each player and the number and value of unarranged cards. This scoring system is somewhat akin to the Nepalese variant, making it less intuitive for beginners.
We are continuously developing the game and welcome feedback from players. Your insights will help us refine the experience to better match your expectations.
