Overview

U-Boat Simulator (Demo) is a free trial version of the full game, U-Boat Simulator. This demo version offers an immersive experience of controlling a U-Boat VII-C German submarine during World War II. Your mission is to locate enemy ships and engage in intense battles using torpedoes. Unlike arcade-style games, this simulator is designed to be complex and highly realistic, providing a challenging yet rewarding experience.

Gameplay Details

The game features detailed 3D views that allow you to explore every nook and cranny of your submarine. You can adjust settings to enhance realism and difficulty, making each playthrough unique. The game's interface includes a map that you can scroll and zoom using your fingers. Yellow lines on the edges indicate the map's boundaries.

• Submarine: Green
• Enemies: Red
• Allies: Blue
• Neutral Units: Black
• Unidentified Units: Gray

Your submarine is represented by a diamond and a cross, while warships are marked with a diamond and commercial vessels with a square. On the top-left corner, you'll find indicators for speed, course, and depth, which can be edited by clicking on them. Additionally, you have boxes displaying health, battery level, oxygen, fuel, and date/time acceleration. Clicking on the acceleration box allows you to speed up the gameplay.

Controls and Interface

At the bottom and left of the screen, you'll find the map scale. Below the screen, there are various buttons:

• Go to the map
• Access the torpedo charging screen
• Bring up the torpedo launch window
• Exit the game
• Pause the game

Clicking on any unit reveals useful information such as distance, course, and speed. Fuel consumption occurs only when navigating on the surface, while batteries and oxygen levels deplete when submerged (they can be recharged at the surface). Health decreases upon collision with ships or when hit by enemy gunfire or depth charges.

Demo vs. Full Version

This demo version comes with certain limitations:

• Only 14 torpedoes available (not replaceable)
• Limited ammunition (25 bullets for cannon and AA gun)
• Damaged submarine cannot be repaired
• Oxygen and batteries not rechargeable at surface
• Save/load of multiple games not available
• Missions not available

The full version includes:

• Replenishable torpedoes
• Increased ammunition (220 for cannon, 1000 for AA gun)
• Refillable fuel, repairable submarine, rechargeable oxygen and batteries
• Save/load of multiple games
• Available missions
