ColorMind! - A Logical Deduction Challenge

ColorMind! is a captivating mastermind and deduction puzzle game designed to challenge your logical reasoning skills. Solve the code with just a few strategic hints provided by the game.

Game Overview

This app offers multiple difficulty levels to cater to players of various skill sets. Choose from the following options:

• Classic: 4 pegs with 6 colors
• Advanced: 5 pegs with 6 colors
• Extended: 4 pegs with 8 colors
• Hard: 5 pegs with 8 colors

In addition to the standard gameplay, there’s a puzzle mode where the game pre-generates hints for you to deduce the secret code. This mode is akin to a Sudoku experience but tailored for mastermind enthusiasts.

Gameplay and Rules

The game board comprises:

• A control panel equipped with four (or five) choice icons, six (or eight) color selectors, and an action button.
• A decoding panel featuring rows with four (or five) colored code peg icons and a corresponding number of hint icons.

Normal Game Mode

The game randomly selects a pattern of four (or five) code pegs from a palette of six (or eight) colors for you to guess. Duplicates are allowed. Players can click on the choice icon or action button to populate it with the currently selected color. Once all choice icons are filled, pressing the action button submits the guess. The game then provides feedback through hint icons—black for correct color and position, grey for correct color but incorrect position. Each hint icon corresponds to exactly one code peg.

The game concludes when the player correctly guesses the code or exhausts their maximum number of guesses (ranging from 6 to 15 rows).

Puzzle Mode

In this mode, the game generates a hidden code and pre-generates some random color guesses. Using these hints, players must deduce the color pattern. The game ends once the player correctly guesses the code or reaches the maximum number of guesses (including pre-generated guesses).

Setting Up the Game

Players can customize their gaming experience by setting the difficulty level and choosing the maximum number of guesses per game (options include 6, 8, 10, or 15).

  • Extended: 4 pegs and 8 colors
  • Hard: 5 pegs and 8 colors

• Game Length:
  Players can set the maximum number of guesses they want to make before the game ends.

Restarting the Game

At any point, players can start anew by clicking "New Game" in the navigation drawer.
