Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) is a prestigious institution established in 1964, initially as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University (APAU). In honor of the renowned parliamentarian and farmer leader, Acharya N. G. Ranga, the university was renamed in 1996. With the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, ANGRAU continues to serve the agricultural needs of 13 districts in the new state of Andhra Pradesh.

ANGRAU boasts a robust educational framework, comprising twelve constituent colleges and six affiliated agricultural colleges. In line with the government's focus on rural development, the Ministry of Science and Technology has initiated several farmer-centric programs, including Biotech-KISAN and Cattle Genomics.
