Noob Face is a drawing application developed by G. Ç, a student from the Foreign Language and Coding units at Bilsem, Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi in Istanbul Bilsem. This application is designed to inspire creativity and enhance artistic skills among young learners.

About Bilsem, Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi

Bilsem, or Bilim ve Sanat Merkezi, is an educational institution affiliated with the Ministry of National Education (MEB). It provides supplementary education outside school hours for students who are recognized by experts in general abilities (intellectual), visual arts, or music while continuing their regular schooling. The center aims to help these students develop and utilize their talents at the highest level.

Which Grades Are Admitted?

The admission criteria for Bilsem vary each year based on a decision by the Ministry of Education. For the 2016-2017 academic year, students from grades 1, 2, and 3 were diagnosed through this process.

Educational Programs at Bilsem

Students enrolled in Bilsem follow a five-stage educational program tailored to individual needs. All programs are designed to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and prepare students for adult life conditions. Here’s a detailed look at the five stages:

1. Orientation Program:
   Students and their parents are introduced to Bilsem through a 40-hour orientation program that lasts no longer than two months. This phase involves mutual understanding between teachers, students, and parents.

2. Support Education Program:
   Students receive training in communication skills, teamwork techniques, learning strategies, problem-solving methods, scientific research techniques, entrepreneurship, critical thinking, creative thinking, decision-making, and effective resource utilization. These skills are integrated into subjects such as Science, Math, Turkish, Social Sciences, Foreign Languages, Information Technology, Technology and Design, Visual Arts, Music, and more.

3. Recognition of Individual Talents Program:
   In this stage, the primary goal is to expose students to all disciplines if they show potential across multiple areas. Activities are planned to observe characteristics like interest in the discipline, learning speed, curiosity, desire for in-depth knowledge, and efforts to solve real-life problems by applying them to the field.

4. Development of Special Talents Program:
   Once a student's talent is identified, the focus shifts to deepening knowledge, skills, and behaviors in up to two scientific or artistic fields. The aim is to transform their talent into performance.

5. Project Creation/Management Program:
   Students form project groups based on their interests, talents, and preferences. They work on projects that involve interdisciplinary collaboration and synthesis of different skills under the guidance of mentor teachers. Projects are selected by the students themselves, and their work, solutions, and learning during this process are the foundation of the program.
