Much creativity is blocked by perfectionism (fear of judgement, etc.), and so deciding to do something badly *on purpose* puts you in control. It encourages you to let go of perfectionism and create freely.

Trouble is, there is a lot that prevents us from letting go of perfectionism. It's easier said than done. This is where Art Badly comes in.
