When choosing a heart rate monitoring device to provide heart rate data, if Healthkit support has been enabled, it allows selection of devices paired with healthkit in addition to any found using Bluetooth low energy.

In the user interface, access is requested on starting the app, and if a Healthkit data provider is found, then this is presented as an option in the pairing dialog explicitly.
