The three steps assemble into a distinct procedure: developing one-pointed concentration on a specific object, absorbing in it, and then letting it go—leading to a state referred to here as "waveless awareness," which is one-pointed absorption in objectlessness. This state greatly improves mental well-being and, unlike the intellect or the senses, is argued to be a more effective instrument for realizing the true nature of reality. These 23 types of meditation are suited to 23 cognitive yoga mental types of individuality, forming combinations such as Empowered Sight, Waveless Will, Individual Sound, etc.
