This sector contributes about 10% to the GDP of Himachal Pradesh and employees 62% of the work force. Some of the major crops grown in the state are potato, ginger, rice, maize etc. Himachal is one of the leading producers of off-season vegetables as well.

Himachal Pradesh is the pharmaceutical manufacturing hub of the country. Almost all the leading Pharma majors have set up their units in our state or are in process of setting of units.

The state is incredibly known for its beautiful Himalayan landscapes, popular hill-stations and also attracts millions of tourists and thereby, leading to high revenue.

Power & Renewable Energy
Himachal has five perennial rivers flowing through the state, giving the potential to contribute 26% of the total Hydropower in India. The total Hydropower generation capacity of Himachal is 2.910 MW.

HealthCare & AYUSH
The government is committed to provide quality health services at an affordable price to its citizen. For this, wide network of health Institutions have been opened to cater to the health needs of rural and urban population through well-trained medical staff.

Realizing the need for more power, modern technology, and better roads the State government has already maintained a rapid pace and developed expertise in providing sector-specific infrastructure.

Efforts are put by the state to emphasize development of IT and Electronics and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of various Govt. regulatory functions.
