WLNC 2018, which was held between 25 - 27 April, in Kobe-Japan, attracted around six hundred physicians including grantees from all over the world and around one hundred and fifty engineers and company representatives from 52 countries. It consisted of very intense, live transmissions of full range cases, from ISTANBUL, ANKARA, BUFFALO, KOBE, BUENOS AIRES AND SHANGHAI and panel discussions of stroke treatment by world-wide experts. During the live cases, technical tips and tricks as well as philosophy, indications and alternative treatment techniques were discussed along with additional companion cases with the very experienced and attentive panelists /discussants from all over the world. We are thankful to all contributing centers, world-renowned panelists/discussants, sponsoring companies and all the attendees for making this event a great success.

In WLNC 2018, total of 27 complex cases were treated during the live transmission. Many intracranial aneurysms (including dissecting, giant, fusiform and distal aneurysms in addition to saccular ones) were treated with variable techniques as indicated e.g.Different flow-diverters with different features as well as intrasaccular flow modifier devices and various coiling techniques such as stent assisted coiling, double microcatheter technique etc. The operators took advantage of different liquid embolic agents in the occlusion of arteriovenous malformations. Transarterial AVM embolization, in which flow control was provided through simultaneous injections from three microcatheters with complete occlusion was witnessed. A falcotentorial dural AVF was embolized with total occlusion. Revascularization treatments were performed with varible techniques. Stroke panel of very experienced interventionalists from all over the world discussed the stroke organization. Ultimate surprise of the program was the acute stroke case which was treated successfully while the technical excellence was appreciated. As a WLNC classic, learning labs provided hands-on experience and interesting lectures from well-known speakers.

The philosophy of our meeting is persistent with all live cases accompanied by open discussion and it rotates around the world, from one continent to the other each year. The host city for WLNC 2019 will be Barcelona - Spain, a unique city with its attractions.

This year, there will be live case transmissions from ISTANBUL, ANKARA, BUENOS AIRES, CHICAGO, SHANGHAI, LIMOGES and hosting BARCELONA; an intriguing stroke panel with the latest hot topics accompanied by real life cases; key-note lectures limited to the latest controversial issues and new technologies session.
