About Mom Net
Mom Net Interactive Intervention
Mom Net is a pioneering web-based interactive intervention designed specifically for mothers experiencing depressive symptoms whose children are enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start programs. This initiative aims to bridge the gap in mental health support by providing much-needed assistance to mothers who might otherwise go untreated.
Addressing the Need for Support
Too often, mothers facing economic hardships and depressive symptoms do not receive the necessary treatment. Recognizing this critical gap, we developed Mom Net Mobile. This innovative approach leverages the accessibility and convenience of digital platforms to reach mothers in need. By integrating Mom Net directly into existing Head Start services, we ensure that these mothers can access the support they require without additional barriers.
How Mom Net Works
Mom Net is a self-help program facilitated by a coach, making it accessible and supportive for parents dealing with depressive symptoms. The program is adapted from an empirically-supported cognitive behavioral treatment for depression, ensuring that it is based on proven therapeutic techniques. With Head Start staff trained as Mom-Net coaches, mothers can receive personalized guidance and support within their communities.
Seamless Integration
The intervention is delivered through both mobile apps and web browsers, allowing mothers to engage with the program at their own pace and convenience. This flexibility ensures that busy mothers can fit the program into their daily lives, enhancing their ability to manage depressive symptoms effectively.
By leveraging technology and community resources, Mom Net aims to create a robust support network for mothers, empowering them to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.
