Acerca de ISO Checker
The "ISO Checker" application is a comprehensive tool designed to calculate fits according to the recommendations of ISO 286. It is an Android application that offers several key features to ensure ease of use and accuracy.
Firstly, the application supports multiple languages, providing results in Romanian, English, French, and German. This multilingual capability ensures that users from various linguistic backgrounds can easily understand the output. Upon inputting the nominal dimension, the user selects the tolerance classes for both holes and shafts. The application then provides detailed information about the chosen fit, including the type of fit, basis system, whether it is a recommended or preferable fit, and a graphical representation of the tolerance intervals. Additionally, it displays the upper and lower limit deviations, along with the upper and lower limits of size according to ISO 286-2 standards.
A particularly useful feature is the language menu. Initially set to English, the application allows users to switch to Romanian, German, or French with just a click of a button. This feature remains accessible at any point during the application's use, even after a fit has been calculated.
In cases where a user selects a basic hole in combination with a basic shaft, the application generates an additional message stating that the minimum clearance is zero. If the user opts for tolerance grades not recommended by ISO 286, the application calculates the resulting fit but also prints a red highlighted message indicating that the selected combination does not conform to ISO standards. Similarly, if the user fails to select a hole or shaft basis system, or chooses nominal dimensions not listed in ISO 286-2, the application generates messages indicating the appropriate intervals for nominal size selection.
To minimize manufacturing costs, the application recommends choosing one of the preferable fits suggested by ISO 286. This recommendation is provided alongside the other detailed information.
Developed by a team of experts from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, including Professor Liviu Adrian Crisan, Associate Professor Mihai Tripa, and Lecturer Grigore Marian Pop, the ISO Checker aims to simplify the process of fit calculation for both experienced and inexperienced users.
