App Functionality & Monetization
Compliance requirements for app functionality, background push, in-app advertising, and paid items on Pgyer — covering bans on misleading behavior, ad-display rules, price consistency, and disclosure of paid services.
The app should provide complete, stable, and working functionality. In-app advertising and paid items must comply with applicable laws and the requirements in this guide.
Functional Completeness
- App content must match the functionality described.
- Do not require users to download other programs in order to use the app.
- Do not require login via a specific third-party account.
- Do not impose explicit restrictions by device model, hardware, or carrier.
- If the main functionality requires payment to unlock, a free trial must be provided.
Background Push
- Do not push content unrelated to your own product in the background — for example, ads or prompts to download software.
- Do not push ads or notifications in the background that cannot be cleared.
- Pop-up notification features must clearly state the form, content, and frequency of the push, the unsubscribe channel, and prominently identify the push provider; users must not be obstructed from dismissing the popup.
No Misleading or Unlawful Behavior
- Do not provide false or misleading features, information, or claims.
- Do not help users mislead others, and do not provide functionality used for deception or unlawful acts (such as generating seals or identity information). Do not promote or assist in creating text, images, or video to spread false or misleading information.
- Do not violate any applicable laws, regulations, rules, or legally binding documents.
Lawful Ad Content
In-app ads must be shown only inside the app, must not contain unlawful or misleading content, and must not be malicious or disruptive.
- Ads must be clearly and prominently labeled "Ad" so they are distinguishable from non-advertising information. The same applies to ads that promote products or services through knowledge-sharing, experience reviews, or product reviews with a purchase link.
- Ads must not contain false or misleading content, and must not deceive, mislead, or trick users.
- Internet ads subject to review must be published exactly as approved — no editing, splicing, or modification.
- Ads with embedded links must be checked end-to-end: the destination link's content must match the ad up front.
Ad Pop-ups & Redirects
Ad pop-ups must not interfere with user actions. Redirects must be initiated by the user:
- No malicious or frequent pop-ups; no pop-ups in functional areas, on system buttons (back, home), outside the app, after the app has exited, or on the lock screen.
- Without the user's consent, request, or in clear refusal, do not attach ads or ad links to user emails or instant messages.
- Do not use full-screen images or videos as redirect/download links that induce or are likely to cause mis-clicks.
- Do not use deceptive copy such as "Start the game", "Claim red envelope", "Phone is lagging", "Memory is full" without clearly indicating that the action downloads an app.
- Do not use rewards, discounts, or points to deceive users into providing ID numbers, faces, fingerprints, or other personal information.
- For redirects triggered by interactions like "shake", clearly disclose the trigger action and expected behavior, and do not lower thresholds with high sensitivity to cause misleading or forced redirects.
- Do not include content that may cause child users to click unintentionally.
Ad Closing
Ads must support one-click close:
- The close control must not be fake, ineffective, too small, or hidden.
- Ad creatives must not contain misleading close icons.
- The close control must not be delayed or require a countdown.
- The ad must not pop up again after being closed.
- Users must not be required to enter personal information in order to close.
Consistent Pricing
The price displayed in the app must match what the user actually pays. No auto-debits, hidden charges, or coerced payments:
- During payment, the user must confirm the purchase and the payment separately.
- For memberships or services using auto-renewal/auto-charge, the user must be prominently notified and consent obtained — no pre-checked options, deception, or forced bundling.
Disclosure of Paid Services
- When enabling membership services, clearly and prominently disclose the product features, benefits, and pricing. Do not unilaterally add restrictions during the service period, or terminate features the user normally relies on, or degrade the experience.
- Auto-renewal purchases must continue to deliver value, and the auto-renewal agreement plus instructions for cancellation must be prominently disclosed at the purchase or subscription page.
- Paid random-draw mechanics (in-game item draws, blind boxes) must clearly disclose the draw rules and the probability of each item, in a prominent location (such as the payment screen) before the user pays.
The developer must provide real, working contact channels in the app (online support, phone, email, etc.), so users can easily reach out and get a timely response when they have questions or payment issues.
