Appeals & FAQ
Appeal flow for removed apps, channels for reporting noncompliant apps on the platform, and answers to frequent review questions (antivirus blocking, distribution-application rejection, review differences, etc.).
This page covers the appeal flow for removed apps, the channel for reporting noncompliant apps, and frequent questions during review.
Appeal Flow
Preparation
- Check site messages, SMS, or email to understand the specific reason your app was removed.
- Prepare appeal materials: in-app screenshots, regulated-industry qualifications, an in-app test account, the app description, and an appeal statement responding to the takedown decision.
Appeal Entry Points
Choose either:
- Console → Beta Distribution → Removed Apps → top takedown notice → Appeal, upload the materials and submit for review.
- Open the support widget at the bottom-right of the Pgyer site and reply with 人工 (human) to reach the human-support appeal channel.
Outcomes
- A successful appeal restores the app.
- A failed appeal can be re-submitted after the materials are revised based on the failure reason.
Common Takedown Reasons
- False positive by the system;
- Antivirus interception;
- Missing qualifications for a regulated industry;
- Account registration is broken (you should provide a working test account and login info);
- Politically sensitive, pornographic, gambling, lottery, pirated, VPN, or other serious violations;
- Infringement complaint by a rights holder, where the respondent acknowledged the complaint or did not respond within a reasonable period;
- Failure to meet the App Review Guide;
- Takedown ordered by a relevant authority.
Reporting Flow
Pgyer operates a community reporting system, and welcomes the public to help monitor unlawful and harmful information in mobile apps. Report any pornography/gambling/drugs, telecom fraud, infringement, unlawful collection of personal information, or any violation of the app review guide.
Report Categories
| Category | Typical Cases |
|---|---|
| Political | Endangering national security, honor, or interests; inciting subversion or splitting the country |
| Terror | Promoting terrorism, extremism, ethnic hatred, or ethnic discrimination |
| Pornography | Spreading obscene/pornographic, child-pornographic, or vulgar harmful content |
| Gambling | Online sports/horse betting, gaming gambling, online gambling, lottery trading |
| Fraud | Financial crimes, blockchain digital-currency trading, usury, illegal fundraising, pyramid schemes, brushing/likes-for-pay |
| Privacy | Unlawful collection and use of citizens' personal information, phishing, induced sharing |
| Infringement | App-content infringement, unauthorized use of others' trademarks, images, text |
| Other | Other content prohibited by internet-related laws and regulations |
Where to Report
Choose either:
- Click Report App on the app download page.
- Click Report App in the footer of the Pgyer site.
- Click Report App in the avatar dropdown at the top-right of the Pgyer site.
Submission Requirements
After entering the reporting system, provide URLs related to the report, or descriptions, sample screenshots, and supporting evidence sufficient to precisely locate the reported content. For app-content infringement reports, also submit the app's business license, software copyright certificate, and qualifications or screenshots that demonstrate the infringement.
Processing
After submission, a Pgyer reviewer re-examines the app's content, functionality, and qualifications. The reporter receives the result whether the report succeeds or not. Successfully reported apps are taken down; in serious cases, the developer's account is banned and reported to regulators.
Choosing the wrong category may invalidate the report; reports with garbled or incoherent content are also treated as invalid. Pgyer rejects malicious reports between commercial peers.
Review FAQ
Why Is My App Listed on Other Stores but Not on Pgyer?
Each platform's review standards differ. Pgyer maintains its own security-detection system and strictly follows the app review guide. Adjust per the review result and re-upload.
What if My App Is Blocked by an "Auto Antivirus System"?
Pgyer integrates third-party antivirus systems for automatic detection. If your app is removed due to "Tencent PC Manager interception", appeal via Tencent's official channel. For interception by other auto antivirus systems:
- Enterprise developers can submit a business license, software copyright, ICP license, and similar qualifications to appeal.
- Individual developers, or developers without qualifications, can use APK virus-detection tools to self-check; once a false positive is confirmed, appeal again.
For detailed remediation, see Android App False-Positive Resolution.
Why Are Similar Noncompliant Apps Still on the Platform While Mine Can't List?
- Pgyer continually cleans up legacy noncompliant apps; given the volume, cleanup takes time.
- If you spot a noncompliant app, file a report via the channel above; once verified, it's handled.
What Is "Apply for Distribution"?
Pgyer's features are designed to help developers run internal app testing. In Beta mode, each version is capped at 500 downloads/day. If you need more, apply for distribution; once approved, downloads are no longer capped.
Common Reasons "Apply for Distribution" Is Rejected
- No in-app screenshots provided;
- No working test account provided;
- No app description filled in;
- Regulated-industry qualifications not provided.
The specific reason is in the site message, SMS, or email.
Is "Apply for Distribution" Paid?
Once approved, downloads are unlimited and there is no fee.
What if My Overseas Company Cannot Apply for Software Copyright?
When operated by a Chinese company on your behalf, provide proof of ownership and qualifications in the overseas region; or apply for software copyright with the Chinese operating company as the filing entity.
Qualification-Related Questions
- For required qualifications by industry, certificate examples, and entity-consistency requirements, see App Qualifications.
