Beta Mode vs. Distribution Mode

Pgyer apps operate in one of two modes: Beta Mode or Distribution Mode. Beta Mode is the default after upload and suits small-scale internal testing. Distribution Mode supports larger betas or staged rollouts, and requires a manual review to enable.

Comparing the Two

The install method is configured separately under Settings → App Settings and is not tied to the mode. Depending on app and account state, the page can offer public, password, security-question, team-member, or authorization-code installation.

Overseas-Only Downloads and Overseas Accounts

Some apps show an Overseas-Only Download state. In this state, downloads from overseas IP addresses are not subject to the normal download-count limit. Access from Mainland China is either blocked or handled under the app and account's current Mainland China rules; use the notice on Overview as the source of truth.

An overseas account that needs Mainland China distribution may be offered a Mainland China distribution application on Overview. Availability, required materials, and review outcome depend on the account entity, app state, and current platform policy.

Applying for Distribution Mode

1. After uploading, go to the app's Overview page.
2. Click Apply for Distribution in the banner at the top to open the submission form.
3. Submit the items requested on the page:
   • A 20–500 character app description;
   • 5–10 PNG/JPG feature screenshots, 30 KB–10 MB each;
   • Relevant business credentials if available, up to 10 files;
   • Agreement to the application terms.

Review and Activation

The Pgyer team reviews the app and materials during working hours. Check the Overview page for status and review comments. While review is pending, you can withdraw the request, revise it, and submit again. Approval switches the app to Distribution Mode.

If the Review Fails

After rejection, read the reason on the Overview page, revise the materials, and resubmit. See the appeals, reports, and review FAQ for common causes.
